INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE

Industrial Hygiene Services are provided by Environmental Department staff, which helps our firm stand out from our competitors. Each staff member is cross trained to perform due diligence within the environmental department, however they are also trained to perform various industrial hygiene services, which are needed within most market settings, including construction, industrial, hospital and university settings to name a few. As the science of “protecting and enhancing the health and safety of the public at work,” continues to be a growing need, Hurt & Proffitt will continue to grow within the industry.

Hurt & Proffitt also participates in the American Industrial Hygiene Association proficiency analytical testing (PAT) program, to maintain an in house Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) laboratory license under the Virginia DPOR. Our field personnel are certified under the NIOSH 582 accreditation to perform on site analysis for the presence of asbestos fibers/dust in air, under NIOSH 7400 PCM.
