Virginia Bioinformatics Institute

In the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia sits Virginia Tech, one of the leading research universities in the nation.

And on its campus is the new Virginia Bioinformatics Institute. This is the university’s main facility for revolutionary research in the area of human genomics.

Hurt & Proffitt worked closely with some of the leading science center architects to design this new $28 million, 143,000 square foot state-of-the-art teaching and research facility.

Our staff provided all surveying (topo, boundary, and construction), site engineering, stormwater management, and utility design for this project.
