Every construction project – whether road, bridge or building – must have a solid foundation: knowing what lies beneath any given surface is essential. Our Geotechnical Department specializes in investigations for foundation design, retaining walls, slope stability and other geotechnical engineering services.

We operate a trailer-mounted rig for foundation investigations and studies. Our engineers and technicians are equipped to perform standard penetration testing, split-spoon and undisturbed soil sampling, rock coring, and installation and monitoring systems. We are also able to provide hand auger and dynamic cone penetrometer testing as well for inaccessible areas. Decontamination equipment is available and used for environmentally sensitive projects. In order to provide testing for each particular project’s requirements, we have a full service soils laboratory in house.
