Hurt & Proffitt has two Virginia offices – Lynchburg and Norfolk. We are licensed to do business in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

Hurt & Proffitt has a long history of providing professional services to both the public and private sectors. Our public-sector clients include many counties, cities, towns, school districts, and public service authorities, as well as many state agencies, such as transportation departments and many colleges and universities. In the private sector, our clients include a number of “name brand” commercial and industrial corporations.

What are the typical projects Hurt & Proffitt’s engineers, surveyors, and planners work on?

Hurt & Proffitt’s engineers, surveyors, and planners design everything from roads to building sites to utility lines to water and wastewater treatment plants. Our projects include residential communities, roads, utility lines, education facilities, courthouses, performing arts centers, power generation plants, solid waste disposal facilities, shopping centers, and large commercial and industrial manufacturing and processing plants.

What does it mean that Hurt & Proffitt is “employee-owned?”

In 1996, Hurt & Proffitt converted to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Every employee, regardless of position or duties, is eligible to receive company stock under the ESOP.
