Gastroenterology Associates
Hurt & Proffitt provided all survey, civil and geotechnical engineering services for this 2-story medical office building. The project also included planning services to site the building and parking as well as extension of public water and sewer utilities to serve the site.
Surgery Center of Lynchburg
Hurt & Proffitt provided civil and geotechnical engineering services for the surgery center expansion including grading, erosion sediment control and stormwater management. The project also included the design of a Low Impact Raingarden for stormwater quality.
Orthopaedic Center Of Central Virginia
Hurt & Proffitt provided survey, civil engineering and geotechnical engineering services for this 87,000 three story medical office building which includes a parking area to accommodate 459 parking spaces. Hurt & Proffitt worked with the owner, architect and contractor to develop the schematic site layout of building parking and site infrastructure. Project responsibility also included grading, erosion and sediment control design of water, sanitary sewer and stormwater infrastructure including stormwater quality and quantity design. Other services included the design of Atherholt Road for the City of Lynchburg to accommodate the site development. Other in-house services provided on the project were topographic survey base mapping, geotechnical subsurface investigation, construction administration, construction stake-out, environmental permitting and materials testing.
Medical Facilities
Hurt & Proffitt has provided services for the construction of new facilities and/or the renovation/ additions to existing facilities for many medical facilities in Virginia. Projects include additions to the Centra Health Cardiology, Emergency, and Radiology Departments; construction of the new Centra Health Family Practice, Centra Health Corporate Office, Mammography Center, The Summit and Summit Retirement Center, Virginia Baptist Hospital parking deck and Vassar Street Entrance, Guggenheimer Nursing Home, and Bridges Treatment Center.
Hurt & Proffitt has provided a wide range of services on numerous medical projects. Not all services were provided for each project. These services included: preliminary engineering reports, preliminary layouts, site development, surveying (topo, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, construction stakeout, wetlands), geotechnical investigations, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, entrance roadway design, landscape architecture, materials testing, and construction administration/ inspection.
